b) 44 permanent magistrates and two acting magistrates: one appointed until 30 May 2008 and one appointed until 30 June 2008 (as at
31 December 2007).

b) 23 permanent magistrates and one acting magistrate appointed until 30 June 2008.
The figures in 1 and 2 are for appointments under the
Magistrates Court
Act
2005
and do not include the Deputy Coroner, Children's Court magistrates or Family Court magistrates.

Individual workload figures are not available; however, the figures above reflect an average of civil and criminal lodgements per magistrate.
4) Yes, two more permanent magistrates including the one already announced for the Kimberley.
