Hon. Neil Thomson asks the Premier, via the Leader of the House, how many ministerial staff from the McGowan and Cook governments took on executive public sector roles after leaving their ministerial positions since 2017. The government claims to be unaware of any such instances, citing section 73 of the Public Sector Management Act 1994.

GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, TRADING ENTITIES AND BOARDS —
FORMER MINISTERIAL STAFF
358. Hon NEIL THOMSON to the Leader of the House
representing the Premier:
How many term-of-government
employees in the McGowan and Cook governments resigned or had their contracts
ended and subsequently took on executive positions in the public sector since
2017?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
The government is unaware of this
scenario occurring, noting that section 73 of the Public Sector Management Act
1994 prohibits term-of-government ministerial officers from applying for or
being appointed to any office, post or position in any department or
organisation.
