I refer to the introduction of the three new management committees that will oversee the management of the State’s new biosecurity industry funding schemes, and I ask:
(a) what procedure is in place for the payment of sitting fees to the chair and members of the three committees;
(b) who will determine the rate paid to the chair and committee members;
(c) who will pay the sitting fees of the chair and the committee members;
(d) will the committees be required to travel; and
(e) will members be entitled to claim associated costs when attending meetings?

(a) In each case, the enabling regulations provide that each member of the relevant Industry Management Committee is to be paid such remuneration and allowances as the Minister, on the recommendation of the Minister for Public Sector Management, determines in the case of that member.
(b) See above.
(c) The Director General of the Department of Agriculture and Food will make the required payments to each member, in accordance with the relevant recommendation when received, using funds drawn from the relevant industry account.
(d) Each Industry Management Committee will determine where it holds its meetings.
(e) Yes, members of the Industry Management Committees will be entitled to claim reasonable costs of travel to attend meetings.
