636. Hon STEVE MARTIN to the Minister for Forestry:
I refer to the recent decision of
Nannup shire council to reject an application by the Forest Products Commission
to create a large-scale pine plantation on vacant farmland.
(1) Does the government intend to
challenge the decision made by the local community?
(2) How much money was paid for the
land and for how many hectares?
(3) Will the
Nannup shire council decision impact the government's pine planting
target for the 2023 season?
