POLICE — CHILD PROTECTION
1111. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer to an article from WAtoday
titled '''Incredibly distressing': Police, education
department failed to stop man offending in schools'', which questions
how a contractor who has pleaded guilty to a string of offences that include
taking indecent photos of children in 36 primary and secondary schools across
Perth was allowed to continue offending, despite a complaint being made and
police involvement.
(1) On what date
did the Western Australia Police Force inform the Department of Education about
its investigations into the man?
(2) Did anyone in the WA Police
Force inform the working with children screening unit?
(3) If yes to (2), when did this
occur; and, if not, why not?
