(a)   Police Officers in training at the Western Australia Police Academy receive an introduction to sexual offending, emphasising legal and evidentiary requirements during initial attendance, with a focus on victim welfare.
In service training is provided by the Detective Training School in two specific areas:
·       Detective Introductory Training (DIT) – i4 Program; and
·       Tier 3 ‘Specialist Investigative Interviewing of Children and Person with Mental Impairment’.
The Western Australia Police Force developed a learning pathway course for Police Officers; Aboriginal Police Liaison Officers; Police Auxiliary Officers and Recruits to complete compulsory Child Abuse – Trauma Informed Response Training.
