(1) The Commonwealth Government’s contribution to the State’s health budget, including through the Australian health care agreement, the commonwealth-specific purpose program and other commonwealth funds was: 1999-2000, $715.068 million; 2000-01, $768.559 million; 2001-02, $888.381 million; 2002-03, $988.356 million; and, it is estimated that in 2003-04 it will be $961.144 million. (2) The average annual percentage growth in the Commonwealth Government’s contribution to the State’s health budget from 1999-04 is 7.7 per cent. (3) The average annual real-term percentage growth in the Commonwealth Government’s contribution to the State’s health budget for the same period is 4.2 per cent. The All Groups Consumer Price Index for Perth was used to calculate the real increase over the period in question.
