Is the minister aware of the concerns that resource development companies in the State’s mining industry have about the federal Opposition’s industrial relations policies; and, if so, has the minister informed Mr Latham of this concern and what has been the federal opposition leader’s response? Hon KEN TRAVERS
AnswerView source ↗
I thank the member for some notice of this question. The minister is aware of a range of concerns the resources sector has with the policies of the Howard Government and the Opposition, and, in particular: the failure of the Howard Government to implement flowthrough shares; the failure of the Howard Government to increase its contribution to the collection of pre-competition geoscientific information; and the failure of the Howard Government to contribute to common user infrastructure that will enable further industry growth. The minister understands the industry’s views are well known to the major political parties.
