I refer to the Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 and reporting requirements by Yancoal Australia Group’s Premier Coal mine in Collie, and ask in the last six months: (a) has the mine complied with all water testing regulations; (b) if no to (a) , what breaches have occurred, date and nature of breach; (c) who is testing the water quality on behalf of Yancoal; (d) how much mine water is being released into the Collie River, quantity and frequency; and (e) what other tests on mine water are conducted before water is released?

The Department of Mines and Petroleum advises:
There are no water reporting requirements by Yancoal Australia Group's Premier Coal mine in Collie under the
Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994.
There is a requirement to provide potable water supplies to employees under Regulation 7.18 of the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 to which the following answers (a) -(c) refer.

ARL Laboratories Perth NATA Accreditation No. 2377 analyse the water samples
and
Promicro NATA Accreditation No. 2561 test for E.Coli and Naegleria Fowleri.

Mine water is not regulated under the

Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995.
