(1) How many times has the Minister met with the Director Generals/Chief Executive Officers of the Departments and Agencies within the Minister’s portfolios to specifically discuss the three per cent efficiency dividend?
(2) How many times has the Minister met with the Treasurer to specifically discuss the ways in which the efficiency dividend could be applied to Departments or Agencies within the Minister’s portfolios?
(3) Has the Minister prepared any submissions to the Economic and Expenditure Review Committee setting out the Minister’s recommendations by which the efficiency dividend will be met within the Departments or Agencies under the Minister’s portfolios; and
(a) if so, how many?

For the Country High Schools Hostels Authority
(1) - (3) There have been a number of meetings and discussions held with the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Country High School Hostels Authority relating to efficiency measures to be considered by the Cabinet Economic and Expenditure Reform Committee as part of the 2009/10 budget process. Initiatives to be implemented will be announced in due course.

For the Rottnest Island Authority

The Rottnest Island Authority is primarily a self funded agency and as advised by the Department of Treasury and Finance, not within the scope of the three per cent efficiency dividend imposed on Government Departments by the Treasurer.
However, based on prudent financial management, the RIA has achieved a three per cent efficiency dividend regardless of its exemption from this objective.
