(a)  As stated in the 2018/19 Budget papers, $0.5M has been provided to DFES in the 2018/19 financial year for the purpose of supporting planning, consultation and design of the Bushfire Centre of Excellence (BCoE). To date the funds allocated to the BCoE have gone towards development of a business model, functions, organisational structure, facility design and overseeing the request for proposal process used to identify appropriate parcels of land to host the BCoE. The $18M identified in forward estimates is identified for the BCoE capital build project and ongoing recurrent operating costs. This allocation is subject to a final business case being developed by DFES to be informed by the current planning and design processes.
