Disability Services
(1). There are no specific polices and procedures within the Disability Services Commission as adults who are unable to read and write at the level they should are outside the scope of the
Disability Services Act 199.3
(2). Assistance is not available from the Disability Services Commission as people with dyslexia are outside the scope of the
Disability Services Act 1993

(4). The Department of Education and Training provides adult education programs, including programs for adults with dyslexia, through the Institute of Technical and Further Education (TAFE).
Department of Culture and the Arts
(1) The Department of Culture and the Arts' Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2007 - 2011 has been developed to ensure Department services, information and facilities are accessible for people with disabilities, their families, friends and carers.
(2) Financial assistance for cultural and arts development activities is open to all Western Australians. Department Project Officers are available for face to face client meetings to assist with the development of applications.
(3) No specific arts and cultural programs exist exclusively for adults with low literacy skills due to dyslexia.
Art Gallery of Western Australia
(1) It is standard procedure for the Art Gallery of Western Australia (the Gallery) to provide an inclusive service that is common to people with a range of literacy abilities. The Gallery provides a seven day a week reception service during opening hours. This includes the use of Volunteer Visitor Services Officers who provide visitors with information at their request. The Gallery also provides free guided tours, which are announced over the public address system.
(2) Information service and free guided tours as per answer to question (1) above.
Perth Theatre Trust
(1)  The Perth Theatre Trust Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2006-10 (DAIP) recognises that persons in the community have different requirements for how information may be presented. Upon request, information can be provided in an alternate format for people with a disability, including issues with literacy related to a disability.
2.  The Perth Theatre Trust does not currently provide targeted assistance to adults with low literacy skills due to dyslexia.
3.  The Perth Theatre Trust has no funding directly targeted to polices, programs of research for people with dyslexia.
State Library of Western Australia
(1)  The State Library's Strategic Directions 2006-2008 recognises that it has a role to play in focusing on establishing programs to help the development of literacy and information literacy in the community. SLWA has a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan that includes a policy statement that acknowledges that people may have issues with literacy that relate to a disability.
For many years, the Library has worked with Read Write Now! to support their work in providing one-on-one literacy and numeracy tutoring to adults. SLWA provides a range of resources to public libraries to assist adult literacy tutors and facilitate their introduction of students to libraries.
(2)  The State Library does not currently provide targeted assistance to adults with low literacy skills due to dyslexia.
(3) The State Library has no funding directly targeted to policies, programs or research for people with dyslexia
(4)  State Library staff work with public library staff to select resources for adults with low literacy and initiate programs to develop literacy and information literacy skills for the community.
State Records Office
1) State Records Office utilises the Department of Culture and the Arts' Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2007 - 2011 to ensure its services, information and facilities are accessible for people with disabilities, their families, friends and carers.
(2)  State Records Office does not currently provide targeted assistance to adults with low literacy skills due to dyslexia.
ScreenWest
(1) ScreenWest utilises the Department of Culture and the Arts' Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2007 - 2011 to ensure its services, information and facilities are accessible for people with disabilities, their families, friends and carers.
(2)  ScreenWest does not currently provide targeted assistance to adults with low literacy skills due to dyslexia.
Western Australian Museum
(1) The WA Museum's Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2007-2012 has been developed to ensure that Museum services, facilities and information are available to all community members, including those who have a disability, so that they have the opportunity and choice to participate in all aspects of Museum life.
