(a) Yes. Further to this, additional internal and external consultations have also taken place, such as roundtable discussions with local governments and the development industry, to facilitate the development of implementable policies.
(b) As a result of issues raised in the public submissions, the Department of Planning (DoP) has undertaken further strategic planning relating to policy development, constraints mapping for the Perth and Peel regions, development of an urban footprint plan, activity centre planning and public transport planning. The outcome of this work will be the consolidated
Directions Strategy for a City of 3.5 Million: Final Report,
addressing strategies for the central and outer sub-regions.
(c) The
Final Report
is anticipated to be released by the end of 2012.
The North West, North East, Southern Metropolitan and Peel Sub-regional Structure Plans are anticipated to be released for public comment at intervals during 2013.
(d) The above preparation, including additional extensive consultation with local governments and development industry stakeholders, has informed and refined key strategic planning activities, such as the preparation of the urban footprint plan. This detailed work is considered a priority in ensuring a quality outcome is achieved.
