2) & 3) The railway at North Dandalup is part of the freight system. As the Member is aware, when the opposition was in Government it sold the Government's railway freight business to Australian Railroad Group. Under the sale arrangements, the freight railway corridor was leased for 49 years. Accordingly, maintenance of the freight railway corridor, including weed control, is the responsibility of the private sector owner of the freight business. The Dandalup and Districts Community Association sent a copy of its request to the Minister, to WestNet Rail which is Australian Railroad Group's infrastructure management company.
