OAKAJEE PORT AND INDIAN OCEAN DRIVE - SETBACK REQUIREMENTS
I refer to reported comments by the Northern Agricultural Catchments Council that the Department for Planning and Infrastructure’s guidelines for setting back development from coastal vegetation are inadequate for the proposed Oakajee port and Indian Ocean Drive. (1) What is the current setback requirement for these sections of coastline? (2) What concerns have been raised regarding the existing setback requirements. (3) What specific sites studies are being undertaken or planned to determine optimum setbacks and do these include Oakajee and Indian Ocean Drive; and, if not, why not? (4) When will the reports of these studies be released and will there be an opportunity for public comment? Hon ADELE FARINA
