A member of parliament questions the Minister for Local Government, Heritage, Citizenship and Multicultural Interests regarding the agency's TV and radio advertising activities, costs, and use of Western Australian actors. The Minister deflects by highlighting past Labor government spending and current government's focus on projects, stating no current advertising and no policy for WA actors.

It is worth noting that in the financial year 2007-2008, the Labor Government spent $36.6million on Government advertising. In today's money, allowing for a conservative 3.5% annual increase in media costs, that would equate to $39.2million, or, 63.3% or $15.2million more than the projected outcome for the current financial year.
Government Department and Agency expenditure on advertising placement for 2009-2010 by the Liberal National Government was $19.9million. This reflects the government's focus on delivering projects and services rather than propaganda.
(1-5) Advertising expenditure is published in annual reports in accordance with S175ZE of the
Electoral Act
1907.
(6) None
(6a) No, the agencies within my portfolio are not undertaking paid TV or radio advertising.
