RIFP Round 2 The $4.4 million was the amount of funding approved in the first RIFP round. An additional amount of $8,292,877 was approved in the second round of RIFP, announced in February 2003, of which $5.3 million was approved to be spent on redevelopment programs in the North West of the State. An additional $100,000 was approved in the second round which related to a first round project for which further information was required, thus increasing funding approval in the first RIFP round to $4.5 million. (b) RIFP Round 1 The Shire of Derby-West Kimberley was approved funding of $600,000 to assist with the second stage of the Derby Airport runway, to facilitate provision of essential services to the regional community. RIFP Round 2 The Department of Planning and Infrastructure was approved funding of $1 million to assist with the construction of a 100m land-backed wharf at Carnarvon Boat Harbour. The Shire of Broome was approved funding of up to $500,000 to assist with constructing and erecting transportable stadium seating to enable the region to host a range of local sports and entertainment events, as well as some major interstate and overseas events such as the International Beach Volleyball Tournament, proposed to be held on Cable Beach in May 2004. The Broome Port Authority was approved funding of $2.5 million to assist with construction of an extension to the Broome Wharf.
