MENTAL
HEALTH PATIENTS — GERALDTON TO PERTH TRANSFERS
1323. Hon DARREN WEST to the
Minister for Mental Health:
How many patients requiring treatment for acute mental health–related
issues have had to transfer from Geraldton to Perth to receive that treatment
from 1 January 2015 to 30 June 2015?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of the question.
As far as possible, patients are treated in the emergency
department and general hospital beds, and supported in the community by the
community treatment team. In some instances, patients require acute specialist
mental health care and require transport to Perth. From 1 January 2015 to 30 June
2015, a total of 22 patients have been transferred from Geraldton to Perth.
