Hon Barbara Scott asks about the cost breakdown for a new theatre project on William Street, including the theatre itself, outdoor space, and heritage building upgrades. The Minister, Hon Adele Farina, declines to provide a detailed cost breakdown, identifies the heritage buildings, and states the funding comes from a one-off capital works allocation to the Department of Culture and the Arts.

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1) No. This is a complex building for which the design and construction is highly integrated, and breaking the costs down into smaller, discrete components would require time and unnecessary expense. (2) There are three heritage buildings adjoining the new venue. The property at the southern end of William Street closest to the Horseshoe Bridge is referred to as the Chester Building; the others have no name. The properties are between 178 and 192 William Street. (3) The budget allocation is a one-off capital works allocation to the Department of Culture and the Arts.
