Department of the Premier and Cabinet advises:
(a-c) Two new artworks were purchased by the Department of the Premier and
Cabinet between 30 June 2012 and 20 May 2013. Details are:
1. Gerrany-Stone Country by Phyllis Ningarmara in November 2012 for $1,590
from Seva Frangos Art. This painting represented the Western Australian
Government's official gift to Ms Hilary Clinton, US Secretary of State on her
visit to Perth in November 2012; and
2. 'Gift from the Gods' by local artist Robin Yakinthou for $62,000 as a
gift from the Government and people of Western Australia to the University of
Western Australia to commemorate its centenary. The piece was part of the
collection at the 2013 Sculptures by the Sea. The purchase was authorised
by the Office of the Premier following advice on its acquisition through the
Director of the Art Gallery and the University of Western Australia.
