I thank the member for some notice of this question.
(1) The numbers of staff with disability were —
(a) 1 February 2015, 37;
(b) 30 June 2014, 47;
(c) 30 June 2013, 56; and
(d) 30 June 2012, 61.
Please note that the number of
staff with disability recorded includes only the number of people who wish to
make this disclosure to the commission.
(2) Three staff with disability have had redundancy approved
in the past three years.
(3) The
Disability Services Commission does not have a specific policy on equal
opportunity employment for people with disability. The commission has chosen to
promote the employment of people with disability in the commission's ''Disability
Access and Inclusion Plan'', which includes information on strategies
that promote people with disability to have the same opportunities as other
people to access commission employment. I table a copy of the commission's
''Disability Access and Inclusion Plan''.
The commission has also entered into
a joint initiative with the Public Sector Commission on a disability employment
strategy 2013–15 to promote and support opportunities for people with
disability across the public sector, which will include the Disability Services
Commission. Employment for people with disability is one of the key priorities
of the Count Me In/Future Directions initiative and includes pathways to
promote access to employment.
(4) Five people
who have disclosed that they have a disability commenced with the commission in
the past 12 months.
