JAXON
CONSTRUCTIONS PTY LTD — WORKSAFE INVESTIGATION
1418. Hon KATE DOUST to the
Minister for Commerce:
I refer to the two deaths on Wednesday, 25 November, at the
East Perth construction site run by Perth company Jaxon Constructions Pty Ltd.
Did the two men in question have —
(a) a general
induction and hold a construction induction certificate, or white card; and, if
not, why not;
(b) a site
induction, which provides information and instruction to anyone engaged on a
particular construction site with knowledge of the contractor's rules
and procedures for site safety, emergency management, the supervisory and
reporting arrangements and other site-specific issues; and, if not, why not;
and
(c) a
task-specific induction, which provides information and instruction to anyone
undertaking a particular construction activity on the risk factors and control
measures relating to that task; and, if not, why not?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(a)–(c)
The WorkSafe investigation is in progress. It is not appropriate to provide
comment on individual aspects until the investigation is completed and the
regulator decides on any further action. If the member has any information
relevant to the investigation, I invite her to send the details to WorkSafe so
it can be considered.
