MOORA RESIDENTIAL COLLEGE — CLOSURE
519. Mrs A.K. HAYDEN to the Premier:
I refer the
government's latest backflip to reinstate funding to the community
resource centres, following pressure from the opposition and regional
communities. Will the Premier now commit to funding Moora Residential College,
community kindergartens, Herdsman Lake Wildlife Centre and Landsdale Farm
School?
Mr M.P. Murray interjected.
The SPEAKER :
Minister for Sport and Recreation, I call you to order for the first time.
Mrs A.K. HAYDEN :
Thank you, Mr Speaker.
Will the Premier
now commit to funding Moora Residential College, community kindergartens,
Herdsman Lake Wildlife Centre and Landsdale Farm School; and, if not, why are
these important institutions not worthy of proper funding?

Thank you for the
question. It sounds remarkably similar to the question asked by the member for
Moore yesterday. The Liberal Party, once again, has no imagination, no ability
and no capacity.
Several members
interjected.
Mr M. McGOWAN :
And that is what we have seen over the last few weeks. Yesterday we saw one of
the most disgraceful and appalling first speeches I have ever seen in this
place. It broke every convention that we would expect —
Several members
interjected.
The SPEAKER :
Members, I want to hear the Premier.
Mr M. McGOWAN :
