(a)   Since 2017, the State Government has invested almost $1 billion in regular maintenance and compliance works at public schools, with an additional $165 million towards targeted maintenance programs since 2021-22.
This investment has led to a more than 70% reduction in total defects in schools and facilities in the 2022-23 Building Condition Assessment (BCA).
The BCA is a routine moment in time inspection. For example, all priority 1 defects have been resolved.
The Department does not centrally hold data of specific resolutions for other defects at individual schools.
