TRAFFIC CONGESTION —
WANNEROO ROAD–HEPBURN AVENUE INTERSECTION
961. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to severe congestion on
Perth roads.
(1) Can the minister please clarify what specific
project planning Main Roads Western Australia is undertaking in relation
to the intersection of Wanneroo Road and Hepburn Avenue in Marangaroo?
(2) If planning is underway, when
will the planning conclude?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by
the Minister for Transport.
(1)–(2) I
reject the premise of the question. The cost of congestion has been less in
each year of the WA Labor government than the last four years of the previous
government. Main Roads has completed a preliminary design for proposed
improvements.
