I refer to the response to question without notice No. 165 of 4 April 2007, regarding the SmartRider add-value machines and Transperth's provision to install these machines at all train stations upon review of the demand for the machines, and I ask —
(1) Has the demand for SmartRider add-value machines been reviewed?
(2) If yes to (1), what were the outcomes of this review?
(3) If no to (1), when will this review be conducted?
(4) Are there plans to install new SmartRider add-value machines at train stations that do not currently have a recharge facility?

The Public Transport Authority advises:
(1) The Public Transport Authority monitors all SmartRider add value mechanisms, including the Add Value Machines (AVM) on an ongoing basis.
(2-3) The current add value mechanisms are providing an adequate range of options for SmartRider users to add value to their SmartRider cards. Only 17 per cent of all SmartRider add value transactions occur via AVMs therefore the PTA does not consider the installation of additional AVMs are warranted at this time.
(4) No
