The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) has an authority under the Fish Resources Management Act (Regulation 179) in respect of haliclona (sponges) for genetic and chemical extraction. 3. Not applicable. 4. The Department of Conservation and Land Management has received approximately $2.3 million in licence fees and royalties since 1993/94. These funds have been applied to research and conservation of the State’s flora. There has also been benefit from improved knowledge about the location and chemical composition of Western Australia’s flora. 5. Bioprospect Pty Ltd conducts operations in Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. The registered office of Bioprospect Pty Ltd is in Western Australia.
