(2) The WA Local Government Grants Commission has estimated that the Town of Port Hedland’s financial assistance grants for 2003/04 would be likely to increase as follows: · $168,662 general purpose component; · $48,328 identified local road component; and · $32,000 aboriginal community access road special project allocation. (3) There is a relatively minor difference between the estimated loss for the 2003/04 year for the Shire of East Pilbara and the estimated gain to the Town of Port Hedland. This is due to some variations in the weightings received by the respective councils within the Local Government Grants Commission’s allocation formulas. The losses and gains would be expected to be similar for other years, subject to other changes in relevant data and Commission formulas.
