I refer to the Traffic Wardens program at schools across Western Australia and I ask: (a) for each police region individually, for 2023–24, 2024–25, and for 2025–26 year-to-date to 1 October 2025 : (i) the number of Traffic Warden applications received; (ii) the number of Traffic Warden appointments made (trained/cleared and commenced); (iii) the number of wardens who resigned, retired or were terminated (report each category separately); (iv) the current hourly rate and employment conditions for Traffic Wardens and the date of the last adjustment; (v) the advertising spend for Traffic Warden recruitment and the campaigns used; and (vi) what is the policy on retraining/refresher requirements for a trained Traffic Warden returning from extended leave, including the length of absence that triggers retraining?

(iv) The current hourly rate is $33.42. Employment conditions of Traffic Wardens are provided by the Western Australia Police School Traffic Warden’s Agreement 2011 .
The last adjustment/increase to the hourly rate was on 13 June 2025.
(v) The Western Australia Police Force continues to run an active recruitment campaign to address traffic warden shortages. Advertising has been conducted through mainstream and social means, including television, radio, newspapers, stakeholder newsletters (Western Australian Council of State School Organisations, Catholic Education WA), advocacy groups (Active Travel to School Working Group, Bicycle Riders Resource Group, WA Road Safety Education Committee) and directly to schools with vacant crossings for dissemination on their school community social media pages. This also includes (but is not limited to):

· Social Media Pages
· Other Agency social media (Road Safety Commission, Main Roads WA, Western Australian Council of State School Organisations, Catholic Education WA)
