AUDITOR GENERAL —
SECTION 82 NOTIFICATIONS
315. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the minister representing the Treasurer:
Can I just clarify: the reason Hon
Michael Mischin asked a question today is the question that he had asked was
not available, so we did not get an extra question.
The PRESIDENT : That is all
right. The issue for me was I should have reminded him to go to the lectern.
Hon PETER COLLIER : Okay. I will
get some clarification on that as well, but anyway.
This question was asked on Thursday,
19 March. I refer to the Financial Management Act 2006. How many section 82
notifications has the Auditor General received since 12 March 2017?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the Leader of the Opposition
for some notice of the question and his note that it was asked on 19 March and
therefore was current at that date.
I thank the Auditor General for
assisting in the preparation of this response. The Auditor General has advised
me that as an independent officer of the Parliament with discretion in managing
the Office of the Auditor General's functions, she would encourage
members and committees to liaise directly with her office should they wish to
seek information regarding its operations and activities. That information can,
of course, be conveyed to the Parliament more broadly if necessary or
desirable.
