(1) Is the minister aware of Grain Biotec Australia Pty Ltd’s successful wheat field trials near Corrigin? (2) Is the minister also aware that the company is considering leaving Western Australia and relocating to Queensland as a result of a lack of government support? (1) Yes. (2) I am aware that Grain Biotech Australia Pty Ltd has said it would wind up its operations but I am unaware of the statement in the second part of the member’s question that it may move to Queensland. I hope that it does because I would like that company to continue. (3) I have met GBA representatives on a number of occasions since it has been active in Western Australia. They have not sought a meeting with me about their decision to wind up the company. Indeed, they have never raised the matter of financing with me.
