RAIL SAFETY —
TRAIN VISIBILITY AND LEVEL CROSSING CODE OF PRACTICE
1533. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to the June 2023 meeting of
infrastructure and transport ministers and the Office of the National Rail
Safety Regulator's train visibility and level crossing code of practice
currently awaiting ministerial endorsement.
(1) Has the code of practice been
considered by the Minister for Transport?
(2) Does the minister support
adopting the code?
(3) When will the infrastructure
and transport ministers meet to consider adopting the code?
(4) Have any rail operators advised
they will consider adopting the code?
(5) If no rail operators adopt the
code, will the minister consider enforcing it through legislation?
