❓ Ms. Saffioti questions the Minister for Transport regarding the Perth Darwin Highway project, specifically about the business case, project development, and state government funding. The Minister's response details the completion of a preliminary business case, ongoing project development, and unsuccessful lobbying for federal funding, while also criticising the previous Labor government's lack of planning.

I refer to the Minster's answer to Question on Notice 4503, when the Minister highlighted that an estimated cost to construct the Perth Darwin Highway was yet to be determined, and ask:
(a) when was the business case completed;
(b) will the Minister table a copy of the business case;
(c) has project development work begun; and
(d) when will the project receive State Government funding?

advises:
(a) A preliminary Business Case for the Perth-Darwin National Highway - Swan Valley Bypass project was completed last year.
(b) The document is an internal working document.
(c) Yes
(d) The Liberal-National Government has recently lobbied the Federal Labor Government to commit to funding the Perth Darwin Highway as a priority. This request was rejected. However the Liberal-National Government has invested $8m in planning and project development to ensure that once funded by the Federal Government, the project can begin without delay. This work is required as the previous Labor State Government did not undertake any planning at any stage between 2001 and 2008.
