I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. I provide the following answer on behalf of the
Minister for Mental Health.
(1) There will be one authorised mental health
practitioner in the mobile team as well as one Aboriginal mental health worker, who will provide support from a local
knowledge and cultural perspective. Midwest regional police will be
provided with relevant background health information on the consumer from the
mental health practitioner located at the
Perth Police Operations Centre while en route to the consumer. Questions relating to the number of police officers will need to be directed to the
Minister for Police.
(2) Yes.
(3) Not applicable.
