In relation to new tariffs, fees or charges I ask: (a) are agencies required to notify the Department of Treasury of any new tariff, fees or charges they wish to implement; (b) can the Treasurer provide a list of all new tariff, fees and charges that have been implemented since 1 July 2009; and (c) for each tariff, fee or charge listed in (b): (i) what is its purpose; (ii) how much was it when it was introduced; (iii) how much is it currently; and (iv) how much was collected as a result of its implementation in each of the last four financial years (2009–2010, 2010–2011, 2011–2012 and 2012–2013)?

(a) Yes, although approval of the new fee is the responsibility of the relevant Minister and is subject to Cabinet consideration and endorsement.
(b) The Department of Treasury does not maintain a central registry of individual tariffs, fees and charges. Details on fees and charges are prescribed by regulation and, as such, are published in the Western Australian Government Gazette. The
Financial Management Act 2006
also requires agencies to publish pricing regimes in their annual reports.
(c) It is recommended that questions on individual tariffs, fees and charges are referred to the relevant Minister.
(i)-(iv) Not applicable.
