(1) A total of 125,444 hectares has been burnt from July 2009 to the end of March 2010 as part of the Department of Environment and Conservation's prescribed burning program in the south-west forest regions, and a further 116,529 hectares in the remainder of the State.
(2) The nominal target in the south-west forest regions is 200,000 hectares. The area that will be achieved is dependent on weather conditions. There is no target figure for the remainder of the State. I wish to advise the member that as at the 3 May 83 burns in DEC's three south west forest regions have been completed and another 47 were partially completed for an overall total of 170,145 hectares.
