PRISONERS REVIEW BOARD —
EARLY PAROLE — LUKE NOORMETS
600. Ms L. METTAM to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. Are
the WA Prisoners Review Board's decision-making processes being
reviewed following the decision to grant early release of this monster?

AnswerView source ↗

The Prisoners Review Board undertakes
extensive longitudinal monitoring of prisoners right throughout their time within the justice system. It does a tough job, and
it does not always get it right. We will continue to listen to the board
and any advice it might have for us about how we can assist it to continue to
improve on its work. It is difficult work.
It is obviously important that we make sure that the systems in place are fit
for purpose. At the moment , the board does the best it can in difficult
circumstances, and it will continue to make these difficult decisions on behalf
of the community.
