I refer to the Western Australian College of Teaching (WACOT) Annual Report 2010-11, Pages 14-15, and I ask:
(a) how many of the 3,476 new applications approved, shown on Page 14, were from fully qualified teachers from New South Wales or the Australian Capital Territory;
(b) how many such applications were approved for:
(i) 2009-10;
(ii) 2008-09;
(c) are the 477 new memberships approved under Mutual Recognition for 2010-11, included in the 3,476 new memberships approved shown on Page 14;
(d) if yes to (c), what is the breakdown of the 477 new Mutual Recognition memberships in terms of:
(i) Registered Teacher;
(ii) Provisionally Registered Teacher;
(iii) Limited Authority to Teach;
(iv) Associate Member;
(e) has the Government taken any actions to arrange mutual recognition of New South Wales teachers accredited through the New South Wales Institute of Teachers and if not why not; and
(f) if yes to (e) what actions have been taken and what are the results of those actions?

(e) WACOT is an independent statutory authority and is not subject to Government direction. WACOT, nevertheless, provides for the qualifications of teachers from New South Wales to be recognised in Western Australia where teachers have recent and relevant teacher experience.
