In relation to Question on Notice No. 3753, where the Minister stated that under the
Perth Theatre Trust Act 1979
the Perth Theatre Trust (PTT) is still ultimately responsible for setting strategic directions and ensuring the arts venues are accessible both to the performing arts sector and the community through positive programming and venue management initiatives, I ask:
(a) since the opening of the State Theatre Centre by Ogdens, what directives has the PTT issued to ensure that venue is accessible to the performing arts sector; and
(b) how has the PTT ensured these outcomes required of it under the Act?

(a) As part of the management of the opening of State Theatre Centre by the State Government, a Venue Operations Committee, comprising of performing arts sector representatives, was convened which set policy for the use of the venue. All Perth Theatre Trust venues have programming policies which ensure accessibility for the performing arts sector.
The venue management contract with AEG Ogden (Perth) requires that the activities of the venue operator remain consistent with Government policy on the delivery of public sector services, arts related policy and the needs of subsidised arts companies.
(b) The Perth Theatre Trust has in place a Strategic Plan which is current until 2014 and which sets the strategic direction for the Trust. The Perth Theatre Trust Board has a Programming Committee which meets every two months which provides strategic direction for programming in the venues and approves the use of programming funds.
