The transition of corporate staff at health services to HCN in 2006 is the major influence for increases in administrative staff not employed at hospital or clinical settings. Between June 2005 and June 2006 HCN administrative head count increased by 457. For all other administrative staff, the head count decreased by 52 from June 2005 to January 2008.

* Administration staff are defined as General Admin and Clerical and exclude staff at Area Health Services, Dental Health Service, PathWest and, the Drug and Alcohol Office, as well as agency staff.
