I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following has been provided by the Minister
for Health.
As part of the transition from the
pilot phase, an expression of interest process was undertaken to identify a site that had an appropriate workforce to operate
on Saturdays. This process identified that there is currently insufficient availability of staff to safely sustain ongoing Saturday opening hours at the
Gosnells site. The child development service will continue to seek to expand
the number of sites open on a Saturday subject to workforce availability. The
Cook Labor government has provided an additional $39 million in the 2024–25
state budget to support an additional 100 FTE across a range of clinical
disciplines and sites.
