(1) Is the Minister for Planning aware that in July 2012, the City of Stirling initiated an amendment to its Local Planning Scheme to restrict multiple dwellings to areas coded R60 and above? (2) On what date did the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) receive a referral by the City of Stirling seeking approval to advertise this proposed amendment? (3) For what reason has it taken the WAPC over twelve months to even allow City of Stirling residents to be consulted? (4) Does the Minister believe this delay is acceptable? (5) Has the Minister received any correspondence or other contact from the Member for Balcatta regarding this amendment, or the impact of multiple dwellings in low density residential areas?

(1) Yes.
(2) 28 September 2012.
(3) Between October 2012 and October 2013 there have been ongoing discussions between the City of Stirling and the Department of Planning in relation to insufficient information being provided to enable appropriate assessment of the proposal. It is anticipated that a decision on the advertising of the amendment will be made by the end of April 2014.
(4) The process is ensuring adequate rigour is applied.
