I refer to the Budget Papers 2004-05, page 792, Income Statement, and ask -
(1) Why was the total cost of services $230,123 when only budgeted at $218,881 please explain the reason for this significant expenditure increase?
(2) Please give a detailed explanation of other expenses $282,000?
(3) Please give detail of the (10,906) listed at Surplus (Deficiency) for the period and again at Change in surplus (deficiency) for the Period after extraordinary items?
(4) Please provide a list the number of community service providers in the Onslow area?
(5) How many FTE’s attached to the Department of Community Development are assigned to the Onslow area?
(6) Please provide caseload numbers for Department of Community Development officers in the Onslow area?

(4) The Department funds three community service providers in the Onslow area: · Onslow Youth Centre - currently not operating, however a process is underway to secure a new service provider · Onslow Occasional Care Service - currently operating · Walyun Mia (Safe House) - currently not operating, however a process is underway to secure a new service provider. (5) The Department employs four FTE located in Onslow, these include the Community Capacity Builder (L6), Field Officer (L2/4), Family Resource Worker (L1) and Customer Service Officer (L1). Local workers and community are directly supported by 5 Karratha based positions, these are the Team Leader (L6), Senior Practice Development Officer (L6), Community Development and Funding Officer (L5), Senior Field Officer Care Services (L5) and Children's Services Officer (L5). The Pilbara District Manager (L8) oversees service delivery across the region including Onslow. (6) The Field Officer in Onslow currently has 5 open cases. Other duties include duty services, youth related activities and supporting the local men's group.
