ALCOA WORLD ALUMINA AUSTRALIA, WAGERUP LIQUOR BURNING PLANT
Does the member understand that problems have arisen only since 1996 when the liquor burning plant was installed? Mr BROWN

AnswerView source ↗

I am aware of that information, including the fact that the liquor burner has not been operating on occasions when people have still suffered with those symptoms. This is an important matter. I appreciate that the member has made this position clear. It is not something that the Government, my colleague the Minister for the Environment or I take lightly. As I said previously, science has bedevilled the authorities in trying to come to grips with this issue. I am aware of this recent report, and as soon as I receive further professional advice in relation to that matter I will move on it.
