(2)(b)  As at 30 June 2007: 82.9 weeks
(3)(a-b) The target median waiting time for public rental housing is 46 weeks.

The State Government is committed to increasing social rental housing and to taking every opportunity presented to improve housing affordability. In the 2007-08 State Budget, the Government committed an additional $417M over four years for social and affordable housing and to deliver at least 1,000 extra social housing dwellings over the next four years. It is also worthy of note that housing market conditions, particularly lower vacancy rates in the private sector, have impacted on tenant turnover from social rental housing in turn impacting on wait times.
