BUSINESS OF THE HOUSE — TEMPORARY ORDER 7(2)
I refer the Leader of the House to temporary order 7, “Time reserved on Thursday for business not subject to SO 127”. Temporary order 7(2) states — Any debate stands adjourned after 120 minutes (2hrs). Will the Leader of the House now confirm to the house that the Treasurer’s Advance Authorisation Bill, which he referred to in his earlier answer, was indeed dealt with after the two hours of non-official business? Hon KIM CHANCE

That is fundamentally true. However, the Leader of the Opposition needs to refer to the colour chart, which makes the position clearer. It allocates formal business and non-official business over the period 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. It does not allocate orders of the day for the period 12.06 pm and 1.00 pm. Today, the house dealt with orders of the day between 12.06 pm and 1.00 pm. That was government business.
