A recent post on the WA Country Health Service Facebook page stated that in 2024, more than 200 nurses and 300 medical staff have been recruited, and I ask: (a) how many nurses have left WA Country health in 2023 and 2024; (b) how many doctors have left WA Country Health in 2023 and 2024; and (c) how many administration staff have left WA Country Health in 2023 and 2024?

The figures below have been calculated using headcount and includes staff who have retired, ceased fixed term contract or moved to another health service.
(a) Over the course of 2022-23 and 2023-24 1629 nurses have been recruited to WA Country Health Service (WACHS). In 2022-23, 758 nurses left WACHS and in 2023-24, 626 nurses left WACHS.
(b) Over the course of 2022-23 and 2023-24 662 doctors have been recruited to WA Country Health Service (WACHS). In 2022-23, 158 doctors left WACHS and in 2023-24 213 doctors left WACHS.
(c) Over the course of 2022-23 and 2023-24 848 administration staff have been recruited to WA Country Health Service (WACHS). In 2022-23 479 administration staff left WACHS and in 2023-24 466 administration staff left WACHS. These figures include staff who do not work regionally.
