CURRAMBINE PRIMARY SCHOOL — ASBESTOS
1241. Hon LAINE McDONALD to the Minister
for Education:
I refer to asbestos-containing
materials found at Currambine Primary School.
(1) Has the
Department of Education scheduled works to remove the asbestos materials at the
school; and, if yes —
(a) when will the removal take place;
and
(b) what
processes will be put in place to ensure safety for the schoolchildren and
staff, and the community?
(2) What risk ratings have the
asbestos materials been given?
(3) In respect to
the rating of the external panels, did the department give due regard to the
possibility that the asbestos-containing materials may have been disturbed due
to the location of the external panels and the fact that in recent months the
school has experienced vandalism and does not have a security fence?
