The Department of Housing advises:
(1)
The department sold lots 102, 427 and 50 Farrall Road, Stratton, on 20 June 2014.
(a)
The development of the lots required a structure plan to be approved by the City of
Swan and the Western Australian Planning Commission, which incorporated the Department's landholding and privately owned land. A shared vision for the future land use could not be arrived at by the collective owners. To progress with a complex and expensive structure planning exercise to deliver affordable residential housing, without support from all property owners, would have had a limited chance of success.
(b)
The lots were sold for $18.1 million.
(c)
Not applicable
(d)
The funds will be directed to support departmental programs.
(e)
Not applicable
(2)
The Department regularly reviews its land and property holdings to deliver its program.
