TOURISM —
SHORT-TERM RENTAL ACCOMMODATION
1278. Hon NEIL THOMSON to the minister representing the
Minister for Planning:
I
refer to my question without notice 229, asked on 23 March 2022, requesting
information on the Western Australian Planning Commission's
draft tourism short-term accommodation review. I was advised that the WAPC
expected to consider its position statement
in late 2022, and I note that as at 4 October 2023, the WA government website
states mid-2023 as the date this review will be finalised.
(1) Given that we are now past mid-2023, can the
minister please advise when he is planning to complete the review?
(2) Does the minister plan to amend
legislation to facilitate changes; and, if so, what acts will be amended?
(3) When are the legislative and
regulatory changes expected to be finalised?
